摘要:H.264 enhances the coding efficiency and image quality at the cost of a very high computational complexity. In this paper, we propose a new fast inter-mode-selection algorithm based on analyzing the coded block pattern and the correlation of adjacent modes before calculating the rate distortion cost. First, we analyze the information contained in coded block pattern. Second, we analyze the correlations of adjacent modes. We assort the modes into different mode classifications. We can decrease the number of mode need to be calculated by determining the mode classification that the optimization mode belongs. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce up to 55% encoding time without obvious PSNR and bit rates changed. ? 2012 IEEE.
