摘要：玛雅·安吉洛是当代美国文坛著名的黑人女作家,她的自传体小说《我知道笼中鸟为何歌唱》继承并发展了美国黑人女性文学,展现了黑人女性在种族与性别的困境中经历艰辛与屈辱并顽强成长的过程。以成长小说理论为基础,能够更好地分析和理解小说所折射的黑人女性成长主题。
Maya Angelou is one of the most successful Afro-American female writers. Her autobiographical novel, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, inherits and develops Afro-American literature, showing how a black little girl fights for her growth in racism and sexism. Using the theory of initiation story could help us better analyze and understand the initiation theme of the Afro-American Women reflected in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
