摘要：赛博地理学是研究计算机通讯网络 (尤其是互联网、万维网及其他存在于计算机屏幕以外的电子“版图”)—即赛博空间—的空间特征。研究对象包括关于从物理基础设施、信息流动、新的赛博空间社区的人口统计到对这些新的数字空间的感知及可视化研究等一系列地理现象。重点是找出信息、空间与人类行为之间的关系 ,重新定义地理学中关于距离、尺度及区域等基本概念。同时在概念框架、方法学及现场实践的基础上开辟新的地理学研究领域。赛博空间制图综合利用了地理学、制图学、社会学、文化学、计算机通讯、信息可视化、文学理论及认知心理学等领域的研究成果及理论 ,为我们提供了一个理解赛博空间的外观及其与社会相互作用的工具。最后 ,对目前正在进行的赛博地理研究项目作了介绍。
The researching focus of Cybergeography is on the spatial characters of cyberspace that consists of computer & communication networks (especially the Internet, Web, and other territory beyond the computer screen). It also researches a serial geographical phenomenon ranging from physical infrastructure, information traffic and census statistics of new cyberspace community to the cognizance and visualization researching. Another researching focus is on how information and space relate to the human-been behavior, and redefining some basic conception about the distance, scale and region in geography. At the same time, based on the conceptual frame, methodology and field practicing, it developed a new frontier in geography. Mapping the cyberspace incorporates some results and theory in the field of geography, cartography, sociology, culturology, computer communication, information visualization, literature theory and cognazation psychology, it provides us a tool to understand the outlook of cyberspace and it's interaction with society. At the end of the paper, some ongoing researching projects about cybergeography are introduced.
